Justification

At night, a freight train passes through Guadalajara heading north. From the first signal to its disappearance into the darkness, more than four minutes go by: an endless chain of wagons slowly moves past the viewer. The train has not yet reached its maximum speed; this is the decisive moment for those who want to jump aboard. An everyday scene in Mexico, full of tension and possibility.

The performance is a video projection of a documentary about wildebeests onto a moving freight train in Guadalajara in 2015. The filmed images merge with the present reality: animals crossing a river are connected with people attempting to jump onto a moving wagon. This fusion creates a visual space where nature and human experience enter into dialogue, forming a powerful and unsettling analogy.

The work goes beyond documentation; through this juxtaposition it reveals the fragility, resilience, and urgency of migrants. The installation thus becomes an artistic statement for acceptance and tolerance, reminding us that migration is not a new phenomenon but a constant in the history of humanity.
